  1. Conducting Of Historical, National And Traditional Festivals Of Telugu Culture

    The Department of Culture is conducting cultural programmes/festivals in Ravindra Bharathi and Telugu Lalitha Kala Thoranam and in other places. Festivals depicting the famous dynasties and other festivals and programmes are also being organised in collaboration with South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur and South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur, Sangeetha Nataka Akademi, New Delhi, Kathak Kendra, New Delhi, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Centre for Cultural Resources & Training and National School of Drama, etc. Some of the festivals are enumerated below

    • Ugadi Festival (Telugu New Year’s Day)
    • A.P. Formation Day Celebrations
    • Amaravathi Festival
    • Sathavahana Festival
    • Vijayanagara Festival
    • Bhadrachalam Festival
    • Folk & Tribal Art Festival
    • Sri St. Thyagaraja Aradhanotsavalu.
  2. Construction Of Auditoriam

    There is a proposal to construct the multi purpose Auditoria in the state and also Mini auditorium in all Mandal head quarters.

    In the first instance, the Department of Culture will take up the construction of three Multi purpose auditoria in the three regions of the state ie., Rayalseema, Telengana, Andhra on the lines of the Ravindra Bharathi.

    In the first phase an amount of Rupees Three crores is required during this financial year. These auditoria will be developed on par with the Ravindra Bharathi National theatre to meet the growing needs of the users in the fields of Art and Culture.

    In the ensuing 5 years the Government will take up the construction of auditoria in the Mandal headquarters with a budget provision of Rs 3,00,000 for each Mandal.

    The Department has released Rs. 2,00,000 for the Bhubaneswar Andhra Association, And also Rupees Rs.1,75,000 only towards Building Grant to Sri Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu Memorial Trust, Chennai and there is a proposal to sanction Rupees Twenty Five lakhs to Andhra Association, Malaysia as per the announcement of the Hon’ble Chief Minister.

  3. Installation Of Statues

    The Department of Culture is implementing the scheme of preparation of statues of eminent personalities as directed by the Government from time to time. The Department engages Sculptors of repute for preparation of statues by paying the cost of the statue.

    Government has assisted to prepare the following statues of eminent personalities and installed allover the state.

    • Sri Umesh Chandra IPS at Hyderabad
    • Sri Tanguturi Prakasham Panthulu at New Delhi
    • Sri A. Madhava Reddy, Ex-Home Minister at Bhuvanagiri, Nalgonda, Hyderabad
    • Telugu Talli at Hyderabad
    • Sri Jalagam Vengala Rao Former Chief Minister
    • Sri Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, Former President of India
    • Sri Burgula Ramakrishna Rao, Former Chief Minister
    • Sri Chenna Reddy Former Chief Minister

    The Government is creating an opportunity to the sculptors to project their skills.
